Dessau-Roßlau (German pronunciation: [ˈdɛsaʊ̯ ˈʁɔslaʊ̯] ⓘ) is a kreisfreie Stadt (urban district) in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt. It is situated at the confluence of the rivers Elbe and Mulde.
Dessau-Roßlau (pronunciación: [ˈdɛsaʊ̯ ˈʁɔslaʊ̯]) es una ciudad del estado alemán de Sajonia-Anhalt. Se ubica en el este del estado y es una de las tres ciudades del estado que no pertenece a ningún distrito (Kreisfreie Stadt), hallándose enclavada entre los distritos de Anhalt-Bitterfeld al oeste y Wittenberg al este.
Dessau was the site of a large aircraft works before World War II; its present industries include a shipyard where dredging machines are produced and vehicle, machinery, and chemical works. A railway junction with repair shops, on the Berlin-Belzig-Leipzig line, Dessau also has an inland harbour and an airfield.
Coordinates: 51°50′N 12°15′E. Dessau is a town and former municipality in Saxony-Anhalt in Germany. The next larger cities are Halle, about 40 km southwest, Leipzig, about 52 km south and Magdeburg, about 54 km northwest.
