Exposé was initially formed in 1983 when Lewis Martineé, a Miami disc jockey and producer, and Frank Diaz of. Pantera Records had the idea to put a group together where all three girls would sing lead. They hired Sandra Casañas (Sandeé), Alejandra Lorenzo (Alé), and Laurie Miller as the group's lineup.
