Skaugum gjenoppbygget i 1932. Skaugum er en gammel storgård og et delområde i Asker kommune. Gården benyttes som residens av kronprinsparet. Skaugum ligger under Skaugumsåsen og nær Semsvannet, som er populære friluftsområder.

Skaugum originally belonged to the convent of Nonneseter and Mariakirken (Church of Mary) in Oslo, but since then it has changed hands several times.

Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway (born Mette-Marit Tjessem Høiby, pronounced [ˌmɛtːəˈmɑ̀ːrɪt ˈçɛ̀sːəm ˈhœ̀ʏbʏ], on 19 August 1973) is a member of the Norwegian Royal Family. She is married to Crown Prince Haakon, the heir apparent to the Norwegian throne .
The palace is the official residence of the current Norwegian monarch while the Crown Prince resides at Skaugum in Asker west of Oslo. The palace is located at the end of Karl Johans gate in central Oslo and is surrounded by the Palace Park with the Palace Square in the front.
