6 de ene. de 2024 · The Kielland Legacy. Watch films and work with tasks related to Kielland. On March 27th 2020, the Norwegian Petroleum Museum opened it’s exhibit “Remembering Kielland”. It marked the 20 year anniversary since the platform capsized, taking 123 men with it and leaving 89 surviors.

Alexander Lange Kielland (18. februar 1849–6. april 1906), vart fødd og voks opp i Stavanger og døydde i Bergen. Kielland var ein av dei mest kjende forfattarane i Noreg på 1800-talet . Saman med Henrik Ibsen , Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson og Jonas Lie vert han rekna som ein av « dei fire store » i norsk litteratur.

Alexander Kielland was born on 18 February 1849 in Stavanger, Norway. He was a writer, known for Søren Søndervold (1942), Sankt Hans fest (1947) and Tørres Snørtevold (1940). He was married to Beate Ramsland and Bertha Elisabeth Rasmusdatter Aarre.
19 de nov. de 2019 · Not long after Alexander L. Kielland capsized, its sister rig ‘Henrik Ibsen’ suffered a jammed ballast valve, causing it to list twenty degrees but was later righted again. Approximately 18 months later, Ocean Ranger capsized in similar weather conditions off the Newfoundland coast killing 84 people, but USCG investigation found structural failure was not a factor.
