Known for his talents as an artist - and his quirk of painting murals on the walls of his own home, including several depicting the Kama Sutra - he lived at Longleat with his so-called ‘wifelets’ (read: mistresses) who lived on the estate in cottages.

4 de abr. de 2020 · Alexander George Thynn, 7th Marquess of Bath, was the son of Henry Thynne, 6th Marquess of Bath, and his first wife, Daphne. He was an amateur artist, author, and eccentric. He dropped the "e" from the family surname, Thynne, in 1976, in order to emphasize its correct pronunciation to rhyme with pin and not pine.
She met Alexander Thynn, Viscount Weymouth, the son of Henry Thynne, 6th Marquess of Bath, and Daphne Fielding, in Paris in 1959. She later became the Viscount's mistress while she was married to French film director Gilbert Pineau; in 1969, she and the Viscount married. Later that year she gave birth to their first child, Lenka Thynn.
