American Gangster is een Amerikaanse gangsterfilm uit 2007 van regisseur Ridley Scott. Dando por válida esta afirmación, podemos asegurar sin miedo a equivocarnos que con American Gangster vuelve a estar muy arriba, en la parte más alta de dicha montaña. Porque esta película es una maravilla desde todos los puntos de vista, sólidamente sustentada en dos interpretaciones magistrales, como son las de Denzel Washington y Russell Crowe, en los papeles protagonitas.
