Der Salzlandkreis ist ein Landkreis im Land Sachsen-Anhalt, der im Zuge der Kreisgebietsreform am 1. Juli 2007 durch die Zusammenlegung der ehemaligen Landkreise Aschersleben-Staßfurt, Bernburg und Schönebeck gebildet wurde. Er ist in Sachsen-Anhalt der einzige Landkreis, der nicht an ein anderes deutsches Bundesland grenzt.
