John Casimir, Count Palatine of Simmern ( German: Johann Casimir von Pfalz-Simmern) (7 March 1543 – 16 January [ O.S. 6 January] 1592 [1]) was a German prince and a younger son of Frederick III, Elector Palatine. A firm Calvinist, he was a leader of mercenary troops in the religious wars of the time, including the Dutch Revolt.

John II, Count Palatine of Simmern. John II (21 March 1492 – 18 May 1557) was the Count Palatine of Simmern from 1509 until 1557. [1] John II was born in Simmern in 1492 as the eldest surviving son of John I, Count Palatine of Simmern. In 1508 he married Beatrix of Baden, daughter of Margrave Christoph I.
