Marina di Pisa is a seaside resort of Tuscany, in central Italy. It is a frazione of the provincial capital of Pisa, which lies about 10 km to the east. Marina di Pisa was mostly built during the economic boom of the late 1800s, as a seaside resort. It was further developed in the 1930s.

'The village of sand and of spirits' Marina was officially founded in 1872, but in 1905 the sea had already eroded much of the beach that had been equipped for seaside tourism for the past few years. At the time, families came from the city with bags full of salami, bread and a flask of wine to spend the day at the beach.
