Anna of Saxony (23 December 1544 – 18 December 1577) was the heiress of Maurice, Elector of Saxony, and Agnes, eldest daughter of Philip I, Landgrave of Hesse. [1] Maurice's only son, Albert, died in infancy. Anna was the second wife of William the Silent.

She became her father’s heiress upon the death of brother Albert, who died in infancy. She was thus very wealthy and an attractive candidate for marriage. She married as his second wife, William the Silent, or William I of Orange.

Anna was born on 23 December 1544 in Dresden, the daughter of Maurice, Elector of Saxony and Agnes of Hesse. She would be their only surviving child, and she was just nine years old when her father died.
