On 21 February 1722, she married the 2nd Earl of Albemarle at Caversham, Oxfordshire (now Berkshire ), whereupon she became Countess of Albemarle. William (ou Willem) Anne van Keppel est né le 5 juin 1702 à Whitehall Palace à Londres, fils unique d' Arnold, 1er comte d'Albemarle (1670-1718) et de Geertruid van der Duyn (mort en 1741). Son père était populaire auprès de Guillaume III et de la reine Anne , qui était sa marraine.
