~ Annie Kavanagh, botanical artist What a flower is, and where it is, tells us just as much about that individual plant as about the person who planted it or displaced it with another. Throughout history plants have been discovered (by botanists), relocated (by gardeners), collected (by plant hunters), honoured (by artists), revered (in the Tulip mania), and destroyed (as weeds).
23 de ene. de 2021 · It certainly provided an interesting focal point but ultimately (and fortunately) they settled on a theatrical singer Annie Kavanagh who appears on the two albums and had performed in big musicals like ‘Hair’ and ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’.
English born, Annie Kavanagh, is a photographic artist who lives and works on her farm, Roselyn (circa 1887), in the Wheatbelt of Western Australia. Her floral art, reminiscent of Dutch Master paintings, is created entirely on her iPhone. Her work explores the cultural and environmental significance of flowers.
