Anthony Perkins nació el 4 de abril de 1932 en Nueva York. Hijo del actor Osgood Perkins y de Janet Esseltyn Rane. Sus inicios fueron como actor de teatro y debutó en la pantalla grande como protagonista con The Actress ( George Cukor, 1953).
