Anton (Antal), Prince Esterházy de Galántha (11 April 1738 – 22 January 1794) was a prince of Hungary, a member of the wealthy Esterházy family. He is primarily known for his patronage on composer Joseph Haydn .
His son Anton I, Prince Esterházy became the father of Nikolaus II, Prince Esterházy, patron of well known musicians and composers. During the period before his brother Paul Anton's death, Nikolaus held the title of Count.

As his son Paul Anton was only ten, authority was assigned to two regents: Count Georg Erdödy, and his widow Maria Octavia von Gilleis (c. 1686 – 1762).
