Apollonia 6 was a 1980s American female singing trio. [1] Origin. Recording artist Prince created the group Vanity 6 in 1981, with singers Vanity (Denise Matthews), Brenda Bennett and Susan Moonsie. After a number of disputes with Prince, Vanity left the group in 1983 to pursue solo endeavors.

Apollonia 6 is the only studio album by R&B vocal trio and Prince protégées Apollonia 6. The album was initially to be the second release by the Prince-formed group Vanity 6, but when lead singer Vanity departed Prince's camp, the musician hired Apollonia Kotero and changed the group's name.

It's the selftitled Apollonia 6 album (tracks 1 to 8) expanded with extended versions (tracks: 9 & 12) and some solo releases by Apollonia (tracks 10, 11 & 13 to 15) "20 Year Anniversary" printed on the label of the disc. Prince, Ebony, 1986. Prior to the lineup change, Prince had already begun work on a second album for Vanity 6 — but aside from the single “Sex Shooter,” he abandoned many of the demos that were intended for that group and wrote entirely new songs for Apollonia 6.
