After beating Napoleon at the Battle of Waterloo, he became the most famous man in Europe. Riches were showered upon him for keeping England English instead of French.
Hace 2 días · Wellington's residence at Apsley House was targeted by a mob of demonstrators on 27 April 1831 and again on 12 October, leaving his windows smashed. Iron shutters were installed in June 1832 to prevent further damage by crowds angry over rejection of the Reform Bill , which he strongly opposed.

And, further, a ‘we work’ style co-working and meeting space for businesses within the local area. Work will also begin over time on upgrading several retail units on Victoria Road that are all part of Apsley House.
