Coordinates: 54.8723°N 4.1980°W. Cardoness Castle is a well-preserved 15th-century tower house just south west of Gatehouse of Fleet, in the historical county of Kirkcudbrightshire in Scotland. It was originally owned by the MacCullochs of Myreton.

Cardoness was built chiefly as a residence for the McCullochs, a wealthy Galloway family with aspirations. The woodland around Cardoness is a local stronghold for red squirrels, which can often be seen feeding in the castle grounds.

Cardoness Castle is a well-preserved 15th Century tower house overlooking the Water of Fleet. It was held by the MacCulloch Clan who were rich and prominent in the area. They moved in royal circles, but were known for their lawlessness. The first castle on this site was held by the de Cardenes family.
Cardoness Castle stands on a rocky eminence, the base of which until recently was awash at high tide, with commanding views over the Fleet Estuary. It was built by the McCullochs, important local lairds, towards the end of the 15th century.
