21 de nov. de 2006 · An integral part of Mr. Mackmurdo's undertaking was the appearance at regular intervals of an official organ; and so, when in 1882, together with Mr. Herbert Home, his former pupil, taken subsequently into partnership, and his friend Mr. Selwyn Image, he instituted the Century Guild, the issue of the Hobby Horse came as a due and fitting sequence.

23 de mar. de 2021 · Architect and designer Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo (1851- 1942) is the subject of both a new book and a forthcoming exhibition at the William Morris Gallery in east London, that he helped found. Responsible for a small number of important buildings, even though several are lost, he was also a founder of the influential Century Guild (CG).

Arthur Heygate Mackmurdo was a progressive English architect and designer, who influenced the Arts and Crafts Movement, notably through the Century Guild of Artists, which he set up in partnership with Selwyn Image in 1882.
