Annaba (عنّابة, antes conocida como Bona [Bône en francés], pronúnciese en español como Añaba) es una ciudad argelina y la capital de la provincia de su mismo nombre, situada en la costa mediterránea, cerca del río Seibús y de la frontera con Túnez.
Bône ( [bon], Arabic: عنابة ‘Annāba) was a French département in Algeria which existed between 1955 and 1974. Considered as a French province, Algeria was departmentalised on 9 December 1848.
En 1955, fue creado el departamento de Bône por la división del departamento de Constantina. En 1956, se crearon ocho nuevos departamentos, tres más en 1958, dos de los cuales fueron abolidos el año siguiente.
The Société de l'Ouenza was an Algerian iron ore mining company founded in 1913 and nationalized in 1966. It exploited rich deposits of high-quality ore at two sites in northeast Algeria near the Tunisian border. The ore was sent by rail to the port of Bône, then shipped to refineries in the UK, Europe and North America.

Annaba (Arabic: عنّابة, lit "Place of the Jujubes"), formerly known as Bon, Bona and Bône, is a seaport city in the northeastern corner of Algeria, close to the border with Tunisia. Annaba is near the small Seybouse River and is in the Annaba Province .

The Compagnie des chemins de fer Bône-Guelma (Bône-Guelma Railway Company) built and operated railway lines in Algeria and Tunisia between 1875 and 1923 during the French colonial period. In 1923 it became the Compagnie fermière des chemins de fer tunisiens.
Valentine Henriette Prax was born in Bône (now Annaba). Her father was French of Catalan origin and Vice-Consul of Spain and Portugal in Bône, and of a Marseilles mother of Sicilian origin.
