26 de ene. de 1996 · "Bed of Roses" tells a sappy story about two sad sacks who get more or less what they deserve - each other. It's one of those weepers that might have made sense in the 1930s, with big stars to let us know it was only kidding. But I'm afraid this movie is very serious about its romance, which is so earnest and sweet that I kept hoping at least one of the lovers would turn out to be a slasher.
Lisa Walker (Mary Stuart Masterson) breaks down and cries in her office on the day that her abusive foster father dies, leaving her completely alone in the world. She is surprised when she receives a bouquet of flowers from an anonymous sender. Her sometime boyfriend (Josh Brolin) didn't send them, and the owner of the florist shop won't tell her.
