Bideford (/ ˈ b ɪ d ɪ f ər d / BID-ə-fərd) is a historic port town on the estuary of the River Torridge in north Devon, south-west England. It is the main town of the Torridge local government district. In 1966, Bideford Zoo was built by Mrs K. Tottenham and opened on the 29th May 1966.
