18 de nov. de 2006 · "Blues For Schuur" allows Diane yet another album featuring wordplay using her last name, and is her swan song for the label that she was long associated with. This album isn't really a blues album as it is a jazz album with shades of blues, mainly it's an album of standards featuring a full horn section and the selection of songs includes swing pieces.

Diane Schuur hatte ihren ersten Auftritt im Alter von 10 Jahren als Country -Sängerin. Ihr großer Durchbruch kam jedoch 1979, als Stan Getz sie beim Monterey Jazz Festival entdeckte und sie einlud, ihn bei einem Konzert im Weißen Haus zu begleiten. 1984 wurde sie von Nancy Reagan ein weiteres Mal eingeladen.
