Bollington. Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK10 5HT. Known to residents as the ‘Happy Valley,’ Bollington nestles in the foothills of the Pennine range and is a gateway to the Peak District National Park. Bollington’s skyline is dominated by White Nancy, a Grade II listed landmark built as a summer house by the Gaskell family around 1815.

There is a logical juxtaposition of all that we find here today. Once someone decided to build a mill there was a need for stone with which to construct it, so quarries were opened up.
