Brief Synopsis. In this fantasy-toned sequel, former lab chimp Bonzo, now literate (!), runs away from a carnival sideshow and hops a banana truck. He lands in college town Pawlton and is adopted by the granddaughter of football coach 'Pop' Drew, who sorely needs good players. Obvious but pleasant slapstick follows.
Bonzo Goes to College is so stupid you can't help but love it. It's loose and borderline nonexistent plot structure makes this film jam packed with wacky ape shenanigans. You'll find yourself chuckling a lot while watching it. You also gotta appreciate the character progression that Bonzo goes through in his two-movie series.
Former lab chimp Bonzo, suddenly literate, runs away from a carnival sideshow. He lands in the college town of Pawlton, where young Betsy mistakenly believes the chimp is a gift from her grandfather, Pop Drew, the football coach at Pawlton. Betsy wants to formally adopt Bonzo, something her parents, Marion and Malcolm Drew, aren't too sure about.
