He lands in college town Pawlton and is adopted by the granddaughter of football coach 'Pop' Drew, who sorely needs good players. Obvious but pleasant slapstick follows.
Bonzo Goes to College is the one that Ronald Reagan isn't in. The focus, of course, is on brainy chimpanzee Bonzo, who escapes a seedy sideshow and hides out on a college campus. Here he is adopted by Betsy Drew (Gigi Perreau), the daughter of nonplused professor Malcolm Drew (Charles Drake).
In Bedtime For Bonzo, Bonzo was a mischievous chimpanzee learning how to behave like a human child, but now, he's a super intelligent and super athletic chad. Bonzo starts the film by accurately guessing what instrument Nero played, only to end up being a beast at handegg.
