El boogie-woogie o buguibugui [1] es un estilo de blues basado en el piano, generalmente rápido y bailable. Se caracteriza por la ejecución con la mano izquierda de determinadas figuras. Estas figuras que construye la mano izquierda están escritas en corcheas , en compases de 4/4 , constituyendo así el denominado eight-to-the-bar .
