The current town hall was built to a design by the French architect Charles Garnier. Garnier, who had left Paris because of Paris Commune (1871), was looking for a land in Bordighera to build his future house. Zemljopis. Bordighera se nalazi blizu granice s Francuskom, 10 km zapadno od San Rema. Grad se dijeli na dva dijela između kojih prolazi Via Romana: stari grad i novi dio grada iz 19. i 20. stoljeća.
