Henry Hathaway’s “Call Northside 777” is a documentary style noir depicting the true story of a man falsely convicted for the murder of a prohibition-era Chicago police officer. Over a decade into his 99 year sentence, a journalist decides to reopen the case.
In 1932, a cop is killed and Frank Wiecek sentenced to life. Eleven years later, a newspaper ad by Frank's mother leads Chicago reporter P.J. O'Neal to look into the case.
