  1. The Hamina Cadet School and Finland Cadet School were the common names for the Fredrikshamn cadet school during the period 1819–1901. The Cadet School was founded in 1780 by Georg Magnus Sprengtporten at Kuopio and transferred in 1781 to Rantasalmi where it was called Haapaniemi Cadet School.

Until the end of the 19th century The Cadet School was considered the highest educational institution in Finland, after the Imperial Alexander University, i.e. the present-day University of Helsinki.

In addition, C.G.E Mannerheim, Marshal of Finland, walked the streets of Hamina while attending the Imperial Finnish Cadet School during 1882–1886.

  6. Three commandants of the Cadet School occupied the building. Edvard Gustaf af Forselles was the commandant from 1863-1871 and after him Lieutenant General Frithiof Alfred Neovius from 1871-1885. The last owner of the house was Lieutenant General Carl Enckell in 1885-1903.
