Virginia's 8th congressional district is located just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C.. It comprises several populous suburbs in Northern Virginia, including all of Alexandria, Arlington, and Falls Church, as well as parts of Fairfax County. Democrat Don Beyer has held the seat since 2015.

As of the 2020 Census, Virginia representatives represented an average of 786,777 residents. After the 2010 Census, each member represented 730,703 residents.
It comprises several populous suburbs in Northern Virginia, including all of Alexandria, Arlington, and Falls Church, as well as parts of Fairfax County. Democrat Don Beyer has held the seat since 2015. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of D+26, it is the most Democratic district in Virginia.
In 2021, Congressional District 8, VA had a population of 797k people with a median age of 36.7 and a median household income of $116,876. Between 2020 and 2021 the population of Congressional District 8, VA declined from 800,273 to 796,645, a −0.453% decrease and its median household income grew from $111,224 to $116,876, a 5.08% increase.
7 de abr. de 2022 · In Virginia, political parties decide for themselves whether to nominate their candidates via primary or convention. In Virginia's 8th Congressional District, a Democratic primary was scheduled for June 21, 2022, and a Republican convention was scheduled for May 21, 2022.
On December 28, 2021, the Virginia Supreme Court finalized new congressional districts for 2023-2033. The 8th District was redrawn as part of this process. The new 8th District still includes all of Arlington County, Alexandria City, and Falls Church City. The changes to the district were made in the Fairfax County portions of the district .
