Prince Frederick of Württemberg (German: Friedrich Karl August Prinz von Württemberg) (21 February 1808 – 9 May 1870) was a German prince from House of Württemberg, a general in the Army of Württemberg and the father of William II of Württemberg.

Die Feste Prinz August von Württemberg (oder auch Fort Wuerttemberg) wurde durch deutsche Ingenieure in den Jahren von 1872 bis 1875 fertiggestellt. Es handelte sich hierbei um ein sogenanntes detachiertes (selbstständiges) Festungswerk nach den Maßgaben des Systems Biehler.

They moved to Altshausen, where he became more involved in the family’s business ventures.
