Prince Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge, KG, GCB, GCMG, GCH, PC (Adolphus Frederick; 24 February 1774 – 8 July 1850) was the tenth child and seventh son of King George III and Queen Charlotte of the United Kingdom. He held the title of Duke of Cambridge from 1801 until his death.

Prince Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge was the eighth son of King George III. He married Princess Augusta of Hesse-Cassel in 1818. They had three children. One of them was Princess Mary Adelaide, the mother of Mary of Teck, who became the consort of George V of the United Kingdom .
Early life Prince George was born at Cambridge House. [1] His father was Prince Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge, the seventh son of King George III and Queen Charlotte. [1] His mother was the Duchess of Cambridge (née Princess Augusta of Hesse-Kassel ). [2]
Adolphus, along with his brother, Prince Alexander of Teck, adopted the name Cambridge, after their grandfather, Prince Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge. [20] He was subsequently created Marquess of Cambridge , Earl of Eltham , and Viscount Northallerton all in the Peerage of the United Kingdom .
