Carol Reed (Londres, 30 de diciembre de 1906 – ibídem, 25 de abril de 1976) fue un director de cine inglés, conocido por sus películas El tercer hombre, El tormento y el éxtasis y el musical Oliver, por el que ganó un Óscar al mejor director.
Sir Carol Reed (30 December 1906 – 25 April 1976) was an English film director and producer, best known for Odd Man Out (1947), The Fallen Idol (1948), The Third Man (1949), and Oliver! (1968), [1] for which he was awarded the Academy Award for Best Director .

Carol Reed (Londres, 1906 - 1976) Director de cine británico. Debutó como actor en Londres, en 1924, con la troupe de Sybil Thorndike. Eran tiempos donde sólo había lugar para papeles pequeños; pero tres años después comenzó a trabajar para Edgar Wallace, encargándose de adaptar sus obras a los escenarios.
