Henry Fox, 1st Baron Holland, PC (28 September 1705 – 1 July 1774) was an English peer and Whig politician who served as the Secretary at War from 1746 to 1755. He also held the offices of Secretary of State for the Southern Department from 1755 to 1756 and Paymaster of the Forces from 1757 to 1765, enriching himself while holding the latter office.
Georgiana Caroline Fox, 1st Baroness Holland of Holland (27 March 1723 – 24 July 1774), born as Lady Georgiana Caroline Lennox and known as Lady Caroline Lennox before 1744 and Lady Caroline Fox from 1744-1762. was the eldest of the Lennox sisters, immortalised in Stella Tillyard 's book, "Aristocrats", and the television series based on it.
6 de feb. de 2009 · He proposed to Caroline who neither said yes or no and then promptly asked her father for her hand. According to Henry, Caroline had eagerly agreed to his proposal. The Duke of Richmond liked Fox, but only as company that went home at night, not as an in-law. Henry's bold declaration left the Duke furious; Caroline deserved better!
