Catherine Daingerfield Willis Gray Murat (August 17, 1803 – August 6, 1867) was an American socialite and preservationist. In 1858, she was appointed the first vice regent for Florida by the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association.

Enter 22-year-old Catherine Daingerfield Willis Gray, Washington's great-grandniece. She had just moved to Florida with her parents following the death of her first husband and son.
Bellevue Plantation was the U.S. home of Catherine Willis Gray Murat, located in Tallahassee, Florida. It was purchased in 1854 after Catherine's second husband Prince Achille Murat (son of Joachim Murat, Napoleon's brother-in-law and King of Naples from 1808 to 1815) died in 1847.

Napoleon’s nephew Achille Murat was one of the more eccentric Bonapartes. After growing up as the Crown Prince of Naples, he became a colourful Florida pioneer known as the “Prince of Tallahassee.” Achille was independent-minded, restless and adventuresome, always seeking an elusive fortune.

Princess Catherine Daingerfield Willis Gray Murat, at once a niece to George Washington and Napoleon Bonaparte, breathed her last on August 6, 1867. Her formerly enslaved workers were reportedly devastated. William Hughes, Achille's valet, asked and was allowed to support one end of her coffin at her funeral.
