CELESTE HOLM was born on April 29, 1919 in New York City to Norwegian-born Theodor Holm, an insurance adjuster for Lloyds of London, and his wife, Jean Parke Holm, a portrait artist and author. Because of her parents professions, Celeste traveled frequently, attending a number of schools in France, Holland and the United States.
