Châlus (en occitano Chasluç 3 ) es una población y comuna francesa, situada en la región de Lemosín, departamento de Alto Vienne, en el distrito de Limoges y cantón de Châlus . Forma parte del Camino de Santiago ( Via Lemovicensis ).
El municipio de Châlus se encuentra en el Limousin, Haute-Vienne, en el suroeste de Limoges y al noreste de Périgueux. Es conocido por ser el lugar donde el Inglés rey Richard Corazón de León fue herido mortalmente en el año 1199. Châlus se llama Chasluç en el dialecto del occitano Limousin.

The ruined castle that stands above the town is the 11th century Chateau of Chalus-Chabrol, where Richard the Lionheart was fatally wounded in 1199. Further down in the town you can see the remains of the Chateau of Chalus-Maulmont, built around 1280. History enthusiasts will also want to see the ancient hill fort structures at nearby Mazaubrun.
The principal church in Chalus is the Church of Notre-Dame of the Assumption, which contains some notable statues and stained glass windows.
