Herbert John Gladstone, 1st Viscount Gladstone, GCB, GCMG, GBE, PC, JP (7 January 1854 – 6 March 1930) was a British Liberal politician. The youngest son of William Ewart Gladstone , he was Home Secretary from 1905 to 1910 and Governor-General of the Union of South Africa from 1910 to 1914.

Herbert John Gladstone Gladstone, 1st Viscount (glăd´stən), 1854–1930, British statesman; son of William E. Gladstone. A member of Parliament from 1880 to 1910, he held various offices under his father, was chief whip of the Liberal party (1899–1905), and served as home secretary (1905–9).
