Charles Robert Cockerell (Londres, 27 de abril de 1788 - ibíd. 17 de septiembre de 1863) fue un arquitecto, arqueólogo y escritor inglés. Fue el primer arquitecto galardonado con la medalla de Oro del RIBA (Real Instituto de Arquitectos Británicos) en 1848, [ 1 ] del que pocos años después fue nombrado presidente en 1860.

He went on an extended Grand Tour lasting seven years, mainly spent in Greece.

17 de nov. de 2021 · Charles Robert Cockerell was a major early Victorian English architect and archaeologist. He began his architectural training at age 16 and went on to work as an assistant to Robert Smirke on the rebuilding of Covent Garden Theatre before embarking on a Grand Tour of Europe. On returning, he established his own architectural practice in 1817.
5 de mar. de 2024 · Charles Robert Cockerell was born in London, the third of eleven children of the surveyor and architect Samuel Pepys Cockerell (1753-1827) and his wife Anne, nee Whetham. After attending Westminster School, he trained as an architect under his father before moving to work with the architect Robert Smirke.
