Hace 6 horas · Charles Henry Leicester Stanhope was born 20 July 1945 to William Stanhope, 11th Earl of Harrington (1922-2009), and Eileen Grey, daughter of Sir John Foley Grey, 8th Baronet. He had two older sisters, the elder of who, was Lady Jane Stanhope (1942-1974), who married Anthony Cameron and was killed in a motor accident in 1974.

General Charles Stanhope, 3rd Earl of Harrington GCH PC PC (Ire) (17 March 1753 – 5 September 1829), styled Viscount Petersham until 1779, was a British Army officer and politician who sat in the House of Commons between 1774 and 1779 when he succeeded to the peerage as Earl of Harrington.

Appointed Colonel of the Regiment on 1st January 1788. Born on 17th March 1753, as Charles Stanhope, the son of William Stanhope, 2nd Earl of Harrington and Lady Caroline Fitzroy. He married Jane Fleming on 23rd May 1779 in London. She was the daughter of Sir John Fleming (1st Baronet Fleming of Brompton Park).
