Biography. Hon. Charlotte Georgiana Ponsonby was the daughter of Maj.-Gen. Hon. Sir William Ponsonby and Hon. Georgiana Fitzroy. She married, firstly, Lt.-Col. John Horace Thomas Stapleton, son of Lt.-Gen. William Stapleton and Anna Maria Keppel, on 8 July 1834.
