The Down Beat International Critics Poll has twice selected Roomful of Blues as Best Blues Band. Roomful of Blues is currently an eight-piece unit led by guitarist Chris Vachon and featuring long-time tenor and alto sax player Rich Lataille.

The Band. Even though Roomful of Blues’ lineup has changed over the years, the band has always been one of the tightest, most joyful blues ensembles in the world. Currently an eight-piece unit led by guitarist Chris Vachon, the band has never sounded fresher or stronger.
Chris Vachon is the lead guitarist and leader of the band. He has lived through good and bad times (economically) with the band. But he perseveres, forges ahead and believes in better time coming.
24 de oct. de 2017 · Guitarist, Chris Vachon joined Roomful in 1990 and became the band leader in 1997. He also has produced and mixed Roomful’s most recent albums. He kindly spent some time with us to talk about Roomful. KP: What makes Roomful of Blues different from everyone else?
Guitarist Chris Vachon, now celebrating thirty years with the band including twenty-plus years as the leader, produced the album and had a hand in writing eight songs. Other returning members include Phil Pemberton on vocals, John Turner on upright bass, and Rusty Scott on keyboards.
On record and on stage, Roomful of Blues—led by master guitarist Chris Vachon for the past 22 years—continues to deliver its bone-shaking mix of original songs and carefully chosen covers ranging from jump, swing and proto rock ‘n’ roll to funky, contemporary blues.
