Lord Salisbury married Lady Cicely Alice Gore (born 15 July 1867, died 5 February 1955), second daughter of Arthur Gore, 5th Earl of Arran, on 17 May 1887 at St. Margaret's Church, Westminster.
Nicknamed "Bobbety", Salisbury was the eldest son of James Gascoyne-Cecil, 4th Marquess of Salisbury, by his wife Lady Cicely Gore, daughter of the 5th Earl of Arran, and the grandson of the 3rd Marquess of Salisbury, Prime Minister 1895–1902. He was educated at Eton and Christ Church, Oxford, receiving an honorary Doctorate of Civil Laws in 1951.

Lady Beatrice was born in London, the daughter of Viscount Cranborne, later the Marquess of Salisbury, and his wife, Lady Cicely Alice Gore, daughter of the 5th Earl of Arran. [1] She married William Ormsby-Gore, 4th Baron Harlech at Westminster Abbey on 12 April 1913. [2]

23 de jun. de 2023 · As the youngest of four children and the second son born to James Gascoyne-Cecil, 4th Marquess of Salisbury, and the former Lady Cicely Gore (the second daughter of Arthur Gore, 5th Earl of Arran), he was styled a “Lord” by way of a courtesy title. As a child, he had been delicate and sickly, spending a great deal of time in bed.
