Clarendon Hills is a village in DuPage County, Illinois, United States. The population was 8,702 at the 2020 census. [2] . It is a south-west suburb of Chicago. History. The area that is now Clarendon Hills was a wide, rolling prairie bordering the east side of Westmont.

The village of Clarendon Hills began like many communities along the Burlington Railroad. The rail line, built in 1864, enabled early settlers the opportunity to escape the challenging 19th century urban environment of Chicago. The 1880 census reports 14 families for a total of 66 residents in the village. In 1924, the village was incorporated.
The Clarendon Hills Historical Society is a membership-based organization where members pay yearly dues in return for invitations to exclusive events, special program opportunities, and a regular newsletter. Currently, the Society has a board of directors led by four officers: an elected president, vice-president, secretary, and treasurer.
