Colin Dawson. Colin Dawson was the original lead singer for The Detours, the precursor to The Who. He left the band in 1962, and Roger Daltrey, who was originally the band’s lead guitarist, took over on vocals. Dawson didn’t record any major albums with the band. Gabby Connolly
