Constance Talbot (née Mundy, 30 January 1811 – 9 September 1880) was an English artist credited as the first woman ever to take a photograph – a hazy image of a short verse by the Irish poet Thomas Moore.

Was it Constance Fox Talbot? It could have been Constance Fox Talbot in 1839 but if it was, that very first photograph of hers no longer exists as proof. It wouldn’t be surprising if Fox Talbot was indeed the first woman to take a photograph because she was married to William Henry Fox Talbot.
