Consul Strotthoff ( German: Konsul Strotthoff) is a 1954 West German romantic drama film directed by Erich Engel and starring Willy Birgel, Inge Egger, and Carl Wery. [1] It is also known by the alternative title of Melody Beyond Love . The film's sets were designed by the art directors Emil Hasler and Walter Kutz .

Konsul Strotthoff plot Marianne Roedern (Inge Egger) is a student at the Mozarteum, the University of Music and Dramatic Art. Strothoff (Willy Birgel), a charming Hamburg diplomat, meets Marianne during his stay in Salzburg, where she has a part-time job as a tourist guide to pay for her study costs.
