On 21st February 1953 he married Julia Burrell (1934-2004), they had 4 children, 2 sons Julian and Hugo and 2 daughter Dione and Sarah (1962-2018).

  7. The Lord-Lieutenant is absolutely delighted to advise that Dione, Countess of Verulam, has been appointed a Commander of the Royal Victorian Order (CVO) by Her Majesty the Queen. Admission to the Order is at the sole discretion of The Queen and recognises distinguished personal service to The Monarch.
