Brittas ( Irish: Briotáis, meaning "wooden parapet") is a rural village in County Dublin, just north of the border with County Wicklow on the N81 road. It is in the local government area of South Dublin. The village is notable for five sycamore tree-stump carvings by the side of the road depicting Irish mythological figures carved in 2018.
Balbriggan is 32 km north of Dublin city, in the northern part of the traditional County Dublin. It lies on the Belfast –Dublin main line of the Irish rail network. Commuter rail services serve Balbriggan railway station, which opened on 25 May 1844 and closed for goods traffic on 2 December 1974. [10]
Established under Dublin Corporation in 1967, the area was later allocated to Fingal when County Dublin was split into three administrative areas. Bayside was formerly (1937–1977 and 1981–2016) part of the Dublin North-East constituency. In 2016 it became part of the Dublin Bay North constituency.
