Friburgo de Brisgovia (en alemán: Freiburg im Breisgau, en alemánico: Friburg im Brisgau) es una ciudad alemana del estado de Baden-Wurtemberg. Con alrededor de 231 195 habitantes, se trata de la cuarta ciudad más poblada del estado.
Freiburg is one of the four Regierungsbezirke of Baden-Württemberg, Germany, located in the south-west of the country. It covers the Black Forest ( Schwarzwald) hills as well as the Rhine valley. It is sub-divided into the three regions ( Regionalverband) Hochrhein-Bodensee, Schwarzwald-Baar-Heuberg and Südlicher Oberrhein.

Friburgo está situada en el camino entre Berna y Lausana. La ciudad está dividida en dos partes. La parte baja basse ville es rica en edificios medievales y está parcialmente cercada por murallas. El río que atraviesa la ciudad es el Saane (fr: Sarine ). La región es muy verde y poco montañosa.
Fribourg Tour de Bourguillon. The town was founded as Freiburg in 1157 by Berthold IV, Duke of Zähringen. Its name is derived from German frei (free) and Burg (fort). Its most ancient part is conveniently located on a former peninsula of the river Sarine, protected on three sides by steep cliffs.
